Dear Viktoria, I am glad that you took my meaning in the way that it was intended. Not everyone took it that way and it was a good learning experience for me as a communicator. Thank you for your wonderful comments about my way of writing, for it always helps when someone complements your work!!:)) I started writing when I was at the university. I realized that I was learning more by writing, than by reading. My biggest problem was my spelling and in those days you could not look up a word in the dictionary. When I was forty I started writing poetry and letters of protest. I did this for about four years and then I stopped writing, because I was too busy with home renovation. My family and I moved to the inner city in 1978 and I bought a house for one dollar in a run down neighborhood, the house was condemned. I learned with hands on experience and working on other houses for money. Today I am a proficient carpenter and a proud father!
Today I am retired and my kids are all grown, and I am still working on my, "one dollar", house!
About six months ago I started to write again and this came to me when I learned of the Gregorian Masters of Chant and this wonderful site, plus the work I do with my personal web site. My passion is not the writing itself, but the ideas I have in my head & heart about our salvation.
I've been to Bonn, but not to Berlin. I always wanted to visit Berlin, but the wall was in my way! My grandparents were from Berlin and I believe that I can say; Ich bin ein Berliner!
Please take are of yourself, with love and peace, your friend, Alan

Hello Viktoria ! Thank you to have asked me to be your friend, I accept with pleasure! I hope that you like this site and I hope that you'll be made many friends! I send you my best regards, see you soon !
Dear Viktoria, welcome to this wonderful Gregorian site!! New York must have been an exciting time for you! When I was young I lived in London, Wiesbaden, and Amsterdam and it was a very exciting time for my family and I, (66-70). What part of Germany do you reside in? I became a Gregorian fan just before last Christmas and it was exactly what I needed!!! My family and I were into rock'n'roll, so it was a natural thing, for many of the Gregorian songs were our favorites already! We were going through a very spiritual time and the spiritual part of Gregorian was what we needed. I do not have all of the CDs or DVDs, but I will buy The Dark Side, Chapter IV, and Chapter VII, as soon as I can. I can also listen to Gregorian all day long for it really is a soul soothing device.
When I look at the internet, in general, I find it to be closed and secret, and this site is open and more of a communication tool between people and friends. Which I believe is what we need in the difficult times the world is now facing. I love personal photos and personal information about my friends although I would never demand it. I am a strong believer in a world order of love, not in the world order of control that our leaders believe in!!! I believe that our love should be much greater than our fear, and Gregorian has the spirit of love woven throughout its music!!! What a blessing!!!!
Please enjoy this site and take care of yourself, with love and peace, your new friend, Alan
